Janice L. Adams, age 73, of Chadwick, Illinois, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at CGH Medical Center, Sterling, Illinois.
A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 22, 2014 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick. Burial will take place in Lyndon Cemetery, Lyndon, Illinois. A visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick.
A memorial fund has been established in Janice's memory.
Janice was born on April 14, 1941, the daughter of August and Genevieve (VanVuren) Rosenow in Morrison, Illinois. She attended and graduated from Chadwick High School.
She married Paul Adams on January 14, 1978 in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick. Paul died on March 31, 1983 in Chadwick.
Janice worked as a seamstress at the Clinton Garment Factory in Clinton, Iowa for over eighteen years. After she was married, Janice stayed home and took care of her family. She also helped her husband, Paul, with the farm.
Janice enjoyed baking, gardening and canning. She loved animals and enjoyed helping her daughter with her traveling animal display.
She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chadwick, where she served as a former Sunday School teacher.
Most of all, Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Janice will be dearly missed by her daughter, Paula Adams of Chadwick; two brothers, William (Dortha) Rosenow of Oologah, Oklahoma, and Allen (Cindy) Rosenow of Coleta, Illinois; three sisters, Marlene (Darrel) Gelsinger of Gepp, Arkansas; Ardith Spencer of Sabula, Iowa, and Gloria Engel of Rock Falls, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, A. John Rosenow, and one brother in-law, Ellis Engel.
