FRANCISCO BENAVIDES CABALLERO Born September 3, 1910 in Runge, Texas, journeyed home Sunday, May 5, 2002.

Francisco served and was honorable discharged from the U.S. Army in 1944. He retired from Stewart and Stevenson Services, served as Deacon at Primera Iglesia Bautista, and was a member of the American Woodmen Fraternal Society.

His beloved wife, Felipa and children Elena and Robert preceded him in death.

He is survived by: sons Daniel and wife Beatrice; Frank and wife Yolanda, daughters Carolina Salinas and husband Antonio; Aurora Garcia and husband Roger; Carmen Alonzo and husband Juan: Rachel Martinez and husband Robert; HIla Beltran; 34 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Francisco was a devoted father and will be remembered for his spiritual leadership, his unending optimism, his humor, and for his love of music, song, and poetry.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 8, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wake service at 7 p.m. at Crespo Funeral Home, 2516 Navigation. Funeral services will be held on Thursday May 9, 10 a.m. at Crespo with interment to follow at Forest Park Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Ave.
