Jerome H. Rewolinski, 76, of Grand Island died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at St. Mary’s Cathedral. The Rev. Jose Chavez will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at All Faiths Funeral Home. Rosary will follow at 7 p.m.
Jerome is survived by his brother, Eugene and special friend Janet Fenton of Grand Island; nephews, Shawn (Loretta) McIntosh of Grand Island, Jayson Rewolinski of Omaha, and Adam (Teba) Rewolinsk of Omaha; along with several great-nephews and great- nieces.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis on Oct. 14, 2006, his parents and an infant brother, John.
Jerome was born to Andrew and Johanna (Bazman) Rewolinski on July 15, 1938, in Ashton. The family moved to a farm east of Grand Island in 1941. He attended District 28, Milebridge School, through the eighth grade.
In 1954 he began farming on his own, and continued farming and raising cattle in the Grand Island area until he retired. He enjoyed auctions, and bought and sold equipment on consignment. He acquired a large collection of farm toys, and remained interested in this hobby all of his life.
A favorite pastime of Jerome’s was listening to polka music. He enjoyed Hamburger Night at the United Veterans Club and noon meals at the Grand Generation Center.
He married Phyllis Codner on Feb. 18, 2005, in Glenwood, Iowa.
