OTTO ADAM

PVT CO E 311 AMMO TRAIN
WORLD WAR I
JAN 25 1891 JUNE 20 1969
-----------------------------------------------
Otto Adam was convicted of the murder of Stanley J. Baumann a farmer in Nicollet County, MN. Otto had been hired by Mr. Baumann to help out on the farm.
The only explanation for the March 15, 1948 murder was that Mr. Adam had loaned Mr. Baumann his life savings of $2500 and he had nothing to show for it. He lost the check stub & wanted something from Mr. Baumann to show that he owed him money.
A grand jury indicted Otto Adam for the axe slaying of Stanley Baumann, but he was found to be dangerously insane and was ordered to the State Hospital for the Insane in St. Peter, Minnesota. Otto Adam was admitted to the hospital on May 5, 1948 and was there until his death on June 20, 1969.
