Betty Bates passed away peacefully in Roseville, CA, surrounded by family members.

Betty is survived and loved by her brother Patrick Cosio and many nieces & nephews. She was an adoring "grandmother" to her numerous great, great-great, and great-great-great nieces & nephews.
Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Ed Bates; her parents, Patrick and Nellie Cosio; sisters, Frances, Virginia, Ethel, Patti, and Jane.

Betty and her late husband Ed lived in the Monterey area since the 1940's. She was an avid gardener, clock collector and she enjoyed the companionship of her dogs. Betty will be missed by family, friends, and fellow parishioners. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local SPCA.

A Viewing will be held on Tues., Dec. 2nd from 4pm until 8pm with a Rosary being said at 7pm. These services will be held at Seaside Funeral Home at Mission Memorial Park. A Funeral Mass will be on Wed., Dec. 3rd at 11am at St. Francis Xavier Parish, 1475 LaSalle Ave., Seaside.
