Velva B. Acree, 87, of Gibson City passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2014) at the Gibson Area Hospital.
Velva was born June 5, 1927 in Roberts, a daughter of Frank and Nettie Kief Kennedy. She married M.F. Acree on Oct. 7, 1949 in Gibson City. He died May 28, 1975.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue Ann (Darrell) Rickey and Deborah Lynn (Richard) Sykora; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and two sisters, Donita Reynolds and Gloria Jean.
Velva was a member of First Christian Church and member of the Country Club.
