My Gabbie Cat found me one beautiful Sunday morning while I was sitting outside with a friend. We noticed this very small kitten running across the yard as fast as her little legs would carry her. She jumped onto the porch and then into my lap where she promptly fell asleep. She knew we were meant to be together; it took me two more days.

She was a delight and filled my lonely life with a companion and a love that never stopped. I only hope she knew how much I loved her and how much I now miss her.

I was given ten wonderful years with Gabble; each move we made was family. After a week of illness, her vet discovered she had acute kidney failure and was suffering. Her last night on earth we slept together ... both of us crying on and off all night. The next morning I took her back to Dr. Todd and we released her from her pain.

It is difficult to be in my home without her. I miss her greetings after her nap and when I come home. It did not matter whether I had been gone two minutes to the mailbox or hours out shopping ... I had the pleasure of an outpouring of love in a little cat's greeting.

In my mind's eye I will forget the laser light games and the purrs and the game of throw and fetch the rubber band. Evenings were spent reading and watching TV with my friend in my lap or on the arm of my chair.

My heart is broken - I have had too many losses -- but I know we were a good fit for each other. She helped through some terrible losses of family and made me smile through the pain.

To GABBIE CAT -- thank you for loving me and being my friend. I am so glad you found me.
