A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. May 4 at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Bettie H. Carmichael of Eugene, who died April 20 of age-related causes at age 86. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene.
She was born May 4, 1919, in Portland to Arthur and Effie Phipps Hendershott. She married Robert Carmichael on June 4, 1949, in Eugene. He died July 27, 1964.
She had worked as a teacher in Creswell and Sweet Home.
Survivors include a daughter, Sheryl Todd; a brother, Herman Hendershott; and three grandchildren. A son, Patrick, died previously.
Private family burial will be in Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Remembrances to a hospice or the church.
