Agnes Gaynell Scott Freedle, age 89, of Portland, passed away December 27, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Robertson County on April 18, 1925, to William Atlas Scott and Myrtle Johns Scott. She was the oldest child born to Myrtle and Atlas Scott. She married Orvil Houston “Duke” Freedle on November 21, 1942. She is survived by her children, Nancy Belt, Ralph (Linda) Freedle and Donna Freedle; grandchildren, Ken Belt, Debbie (Hank) Dobbs, Mark Belt, Rod (Christy) Freedle, Carrie Freedle, Matt (Loke) Freedle, Darla (Jeff) Ferrario, and Christy Walker; nine great grandchildren; sister, Katherine Dorris of Greenwood, Ind. She is preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Houston “Duke” Freedle; sister, Ruth Huddleston. She was diagnosed with dementia in 2004, and she continued to help care for Duke until his death in 2008, and she helped care for Dick Freedle until his death in 2000. Visitation is 12 noon until 9 p.m., Monday, December 29, 2014, at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home. Additional visitation is at the church after 11 a.m., Tuesday. Funeral service is 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Union Chapel General Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Scott and Bro. David Harper officiating. Interment is at Maple Hill Cemetery.
