She was born April 6, 1916, in Dell Rapids, S.D., to LeRoy and Clara (Patnode) Scovel and moved to Park Rapids as a child. She attended school in Park Rapids and was united in marriage to William V. Becker in Osage on May 6, 1933. She moved to the Grand Rapids area in 1944, living most of her years in the Midway area and spending the last six months at the Itasca Nursing Home. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids.

She is survived by four daughters; Darline (Robert) Laudenbach, Sharon (Paul) Brean, Joyce (Marsh) Frings, and Bonnie (David) Shafer, all of Grand Rapids; four sons, Romes (Fran) Becker, LaPeer, Mich., and Valdy (Coleen) Becker, Gary (Debbie) Becker and Randy Becker, all of Grand Rapids; 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her husband, William, in 1981; an infant daughter, Florence; a son, William Jr., in 1993; a brother, Ernest Scovel; grandsons, John Frings in 1981 and Jason Frings in 1974; and a great-grandson, Robert Laudenbach in 1977.

Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.

Flo Becker was the mother of my good friend Bonnie. I had known her since Bonnie and I were in 8th grade. Every teenager who came through her doorway left calling her "Mom". She was a warm, loving person who doted on her children and grandbabies. She will be remembered fondly by all who ever met her!
