Enoch West was the son of Joe Berry and Lulu Gertrude West. After his Mother's death the rest of his siblings were placed in an Orphanage but He was allowed to live with a relative in Ringgold. He fought in World War 1, (Company K 3rd Tennessee Infantry) and was wounded in battle, receiving Purple Heart medal, serving in Berlin, England and France. After the war he returned to the City he loved so much and married Alice Cotter. He was Commander of Williams-Napier American Legion Post 40 in 1932 and 1943-44. He is buried in the Enoch West Section of Anderson Memorial Gardens.
