This is my Great Grandfather Breen. I don't remember him. I was 5 when he passed away and we lived in Indiana.

Cofounder Dies at 80

William Breen, 80, of 2054 Nelson Ave, SE, cofounder of Breen Bros. Woodworking Manufacturing Co., died at Blodgett Memorial hospital Sunday following a six week illness.

Born in the Netherlands, Mr Breen came to here in 1889. He operated Breen Bros. 27 years retiring seven years ago.

Mr Breen was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He celebrated his fifty-fifth wedding anniversary in NOvember 1959.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; four daughters, Mrs. Johanna Hills, Mrs. Emmit Clark and Mrs. Alton Harig of Grand Rapids and Mrs. Henry Van Dusen of LeRoy; four sons, Arthur, Robert, John and William; three brothers, Teunis, Paul an dComer all of Grand Rapids; a sister, Mrs. Phillip Merrit of Grandville; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral servises will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Zaagman chapel with Rev. Robert Lignell of Faith Lutheran church officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

I'm still learning about my family. As I find more info I'll be posting it here. I also need to link to other memorials. I missed out so much on not growing up around my grandparents. Even tho my granddaughters are over 2 hrs away I'm making sure they know who we are and also enjoy being around us. I thank God for that.
