Violet Burton Redding, 89 of Columbus, died Monday, December 8, 2104 at 9:39 p. m. at Kindred Transitional Care of Columbus.
Violet was born in Adair County, KY on August 1, 1925, the daughter of Felix and Effie Burton. She married Clarence L. Redding on December 23, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 21, 1988. She was of the Christian faith, a loving wife, stepmother, sister aunt, great aunt. With Violet, life was all about 100% giving to family and friends.
Among her survivors are her nephew, L. Garnet (Becky) McMillian, Lafayette; great nieces and nephews, Crystal Burris, Indianapolis, Garnet Mc McMillian, Bloomington and Crystal Hehe of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters and brothers, Agnes Burton, Inous Landrum, Hazel Hehe, Rollan Burton and Stanley Burton.
Calling for Violet will be at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl St. A graveside service will be conducted shortly after calling at Garland Brook with Dr. William H. Griffith. Memorials for Violet may be directed to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
