Charles S. May, 60, well known resident of this city, died suddenly early Monday afternoon at his home west of the city.
Mr May was born in Jersey Shore, Pa.The son of John and Emma C. (Auble)May He came to Michigan in 1915 from Ohio as manager of the F.W.Woolworth store. He was married to Myrtle Flynn of Mt.Vernon,O. in 1912. To this union were born three daughters, one preceding him in death. Mrs May died in 1917 and he later married Mary E. Paffhausen in this city. Six children were born to this union, a son, John preceding his father in death in 1939.
Surviving, besides the widow, are seven children, Mrs. Eugene L. Ghering of Traverse City, Catherine of Detroit, Patricia of Flint,and Mary,Elizabeth,and Gretchen and a son, Charles(Jude) at home,besides an uncle and three grand children. Eugene, Tom and Jim.
The body was taken to the Hibbard Funeral Chapel .
