Rev. Robert Able Herlong, 91, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 1, 2015.
He was the husband for 62 years to the late Sarah Harley Herlong prior to her death in 2009. He was the father of 3 children, Chris Rubino, the late Willie (Bill) E Herlong and the late Jeffrey N Herlong. He was the son of the late Robert A. Herlong, Sr. and the late Daisy Marie McMillan.
Rev. Herlong was a verteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II.
He was in the ministry over 40 years and pastored several churches. He was a charter member and the pastor of Wayside Baptist Tabernacle in Pelion from May 1979 until his retirement in December 1999. At the time of his death, he was a member of Open Bible Baptist Church, Swansea, SC.
Isaiah 25:8
He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
