Jimmie Adams, 96 of Abilene, passed away at Hendrick Medical Center on Thursday, January 1, 2015. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 6 at 10:00 am at the Oldham Lane Church of Christ,5049 Oldham Lane in Abilene. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Cisco.

Jimmie was born on September 21, 1918 in Cisco, Texas to Loyd and Beatrice Reeves. She attended and graduated from Carbon High School in 1936 and was the last surviving member of the 1936 girls basketball team. Jimmie later married J.W. Adams and the couple settled in Odessa. While in Odessa, she worked as the manager of the Franklin Dress Shop for 25 years. In 1980, J.W. and Jimmie retired to Eastland, but health concerns for J.W. forced them to relocate to Abilene in 1989.

Jimmie was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Beatrice Reeves and her husband, J.W. Adams. She is survived by her brothers, Charles Harris and his wife Nelda of Odessa and Bill Harris and his wife Bobbye, also of Odessa; her son Ernie Adams and his wife Kathye of Abilene; grandsons Joshua Adams and his wife Katy of San Antonio and Zachary Adams of Corpus Christi; plus two great-grandsons, Jacob and Michael Adams of San Antonio.
