Dorothy Elaine Alpers, 81, of Cole Camp, Mo., formerly of Fairbury, died Thursday (Jan. 1, 2015) at Good Samaritan Care Center, Cole Camp, Mo.

She was born Oct. 5, 1933 in Normal, a daughter of Samuel and Laura Hulvey Bayles. On Sept. 4, 1954, at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was united in marriage to Wallace Martin Alpers of Dwight. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2010 at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Mo.

She is survived by her son, Samuel Martin Alpers and grandson, Jordan Trevor Alpers.

She was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Chenoa, and a lifetime member of R.L. Nims Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 9787 in Fairbury.
