WILLIAMSBURG - Doris Parker Robertson, 71, departed this life, to the Glory of God, on Saturday, Dec. 16, 1995. She was born in Raleigh, N.C., on Dec. 17, 1923, and lived most of her life in Williamsburg.
She graduated from Matthew Whaley School in 1942 and then attended Elizabeth Buxton Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with highest honors.
She received the Mary Lynn Caper Award as the outstanding student nurse for her class.
She worked as a nurse at Bell Hospital, the local Red Cross Chapter and the Williamsburg/James City County School system. She was a member of the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church where she was a devout member of Circle 4.
She is survived by her husband, Shirley C. Robertson, two sons, Bruce P. Robertson and R. Scott Robertson, and one brother, Marion "Billy" Parker, all of Williamsburg; and four grandchildren, Lori C. Robertson of Arlington, B. Derek Robertson, Caitlin C. Robertson and W. Boone Robertson, also of Williamsburg.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Bucktrout Funeral Home.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Clay MaCaulay at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Building Fund of the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Arrangements are being handled by Bucktrout Funeral Home.
