Before his retirement in 1959, he was a Sangamon County sheriff's deputy.
Preceding him in death were eight brothers, one sister, three sons and two daughters.
He was born in Springfield, the son of David L. and Lucinda Creech Hamrick.
Surviving are two sons, Leonard of Springfield and Frank E. of Tinley Park; four daughters, Mary Oakley Robson and Velma N. Miller, both of Springfield, Nancy Roberts of Durham, N.C., and Roma Hamrick of Cottonwood, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Bisch Memorial Home, with the Rev. LaRue Defrates officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
