Passed away peacefully in Cupertino, CA on January 22, 2008 to join her husband, Alan H. Belmont (1977); loving mother of Barbara Lenore Belmont of Tacoma, WA and Nick Belmont of Mtn. View, CA; devoted grandmother of Aaron Belmont. Loretta was the last surviving sibling of 9 sisters and brothers. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A native of Pocohontas, Iowa, aged 98 years,

Mrs. Belmont was an active member of St. Simon's Catholic Church, Los Altos and was a Foundation Board Member, the 2nd President of Villa Siena of Mtn. View. She participated with the Palo Alto Retarded Children's Guild and was a life long bridge player even after her husband's passing in 1977.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, January 28, 2008 at 9:30 am at the Maryknoll Retirement Center, 23000 Cristo Rey Dr., Los Altos. Private inurnment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Los Altos. Contributions are preferred to the Maryknoll Residence, 2300 Cristo Rey Dr., Los Altos, CA 94024 or Villa Siena Retirement Home, 1855 Miramonte Ave., Mtn. View, CA 94040.
