On the evening of December 8, 2014, Remy Ann Blystone, the love of our lives and the life of every party, passed away in her home in New Hampshire. She was 34 years old. Remy knew how to make an entrance and an exit. She came into this world with the eruption of Mount St. Helens volcano and left us during a Nor'easter. Remy leaves behind her parents Ann and George Blystone, brother George ("Bly"), sister Brynn, sister-in-law Angela, her grandparents Roger and Mary Bumgarner, and "other mother" Sheila, Godson Connor Murray and an extended network of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and all her many friends, upon whom her kindness, fantastic humor and good nature will be greatly missed. Remy always brought huge smiles to every gathering and her talents in the kitchen produced many a delicious and comforting dish. Remy was preceded in death by her grandmother Grace ("Mimi") Blystone and we all are confident that they are having a cocktail together.

When Remy was in the company of children, she would gain their trust — completely deserving trust — as fast as anyone could. Not just trust, but genuine friendship. Her nieces and nephews, both by blood and by implication, enjoyed every moment with her and would often throw a "Remember when Remy and I" happy memory into conversations with their families. Remy could quickly draw out the laughter and playfulness in even the shyest of child.

Remy also had a passion for learning, cooking, gardening and forever exploring the world. This passion extended beyond just the gain of knowledge, but to also expressing what she learned through creative outlets. Remy took on challenges such as going to Haiti to teach children in the face of the devastating earthquake. She gave up her first world problems for those of third world children and made a difference.

The world was Remy's canvas and we have all benefitted greatly from her sharing, creativity, passion, and compassion with us.

In Memoriam

The family asks that you preserve Remy's legacy through your children and through the children around you. Allow a child to show you their world through their eyes. Show your appreciation for a child's unbridled curiosity and potential for joy at the smallest, most seemingly mundane, things. Listen to the children as they are full of humor and, often, great wisdom.

We loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed. By showing the same kindness, patience, and love to all children that Remy did, she will live forever through our actions and by the positive influence of her actions, through us, will have on the next generation.

Remy's family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Friday, Dec. 12, from 5-8 PM. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 229 Danbury Rd. in Wilton at 2:30 PM. A celebration of Remy's life will follow at the family home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Hand in Hand for Haiti, http://hihh.org/en/home/, Deerfield Cooperative Pre-School, http://www.dcpreschool.com or a children's charity of your choice.

Remy adored color and so colorful attire is encouraged for her celebration of life.
