Jefferson Man Drowns as Car Goes Through Canal Guard Rail
Two fatal automobile accidents Friday brought the toll in New Orleans since January 1 to 24.
The 23rd victim was John Felix Voisin, 35 year old, 553 Jefferson Street, Jefferson parish, who was drowned in the New Basin canal near the New Orleans Country Club Friday morning when his automobile ran through an opening in the guard rail on Pontchartrain Boulevard. His car came to a stop near the edge of the canal and hung on pilings near the water. The right door was open and it was thought Voisin was either thrown or jumped from the machine in an attempt to save his life.
