Nino J Fernandez,70, passed away on January 3, 2015 in Mesa, Az. Born March 22 1944 in Phoenix, Az.
He enlisted in the USMC and proudly served in Vietnam. Upon his return from duty he worked various jobs, and retired from the City of Phoenix with over 20 years of service. Nino was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend who loved to watch NASCAR and cheer for ASU Sun Devils, and the fighting Irish of Notre Dame football while smoking a cigarette and drinking a Coke.
Preceeded in death by his parents Nino F and Beatrice Fernandez and sister Christina Rivera. Survived by daughters Elaine and Kara (Chris) grandchildren Dominique, Brandy, Jadan and Adam. Sisters Patricia Rivera, Linda Laing and brother Mark.
Thank you to Dr Kalmadi and staff at Ironwood Cancer Center and to Banner Gardens Hospice. Your care and compassion was greatly appreciated. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 9:00am to 11:00am at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E Indian School Road, Phoenix. A graveside service will follow at 11:15am at St Francis Cemetery, 2033 N 48th Street, Phoenix.
