∼Maxine Reed, 92, of Barnesville, OH departed this life Tuesday, April 28, 2020 in Emerald Pointe Health and Rehab facility, Barnesville, OH.
She was born July 14, 1927 in Ritchie County, WV, the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Mayfield Pritchard, Sr.
Maxine was a retired employee of the FBI beginning her career as a typist, later she became an agent and J. Edgar Hoover’s personal assistant. She was a member of the Middlebourne Senior Citizens and the Wellsburg Womens Club. She was a member of the Wellsburg Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Reed in 1991 and a brother, Howard Pritchard, Jr.
Maxine is survived by two daughters, Deena (Ward) Grose and Dinah (Kenny) Willey; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Pritchard.
Family will receive friends Friday from 12 - 2:00 pm the time of the service at Furbee Funeral Home, Middlebourne with Reverend Donald Thomas officiating. Interment in Mount Harmony Masonic Cemetery, Pennsboro, WV.
