Funeral services for Betty Holcomb Determeyer will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the North Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons Funeral Home with Paul Clayton and Dan Camp officiating. Interment will follow in Ridgecrest Cemetery.

Casketbearers to serve will be Syd Freeman, John Freeman, Randy Franks, Joe Abrams, Gary Bolton, and Lindsey White.

Mrs. Determeyer died on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Jackson General Hospital. She was born March 28, 1934 in Trenton, TN, the daughter of the late Charles S. and Blanche P. Freeman. She graduated from Jackson High School and attended Lambuth College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Betty was married to Billy Joe Holcomb from 1955 until his death in 1995. Mrs. Determeyer was employed by Sears from 1962 until her retirement, as Manager of Operations, in 1994.

In 1998, she married Carl F. Determeyer and wife Claire of Yarmouth, ME.There are seven surviving grandchildren, Nathaniel, Hillary and Evan Holcomb; Eric and Megan Livingston; and Carl and Cameron Determeyer; and one great-granddaughter, Emma Holcomb.She also leaves two brothers and their wives, Robert L. and Margaret M. Freeman of Acworth, GA, and James F. and Emily S. Freeman of Jackson, TN.The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., two hours prior to the service at the North Chapel of George A.
