She graduated from Jackson High School and attended Lambuth College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Betty was married to Billy Joe Holcomb from 1955 until his death in 1995. Mrs. Determeyer was employed by Sears from 1962 until her retirement, as Manager of Operations, in 1994.
