HAMPTON - Albert Henry Schimmelpfennig, Jr. passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 joining his wife Laura on their 72nd wedding anniversary. Albert was born in Wauregan, CT on March 7, 1921 to the late Albert and Anna Schimmelpfennig. He joined the United States Army in 1941 during WWII, serving in Japan during the Allied occupation. He was discharged at the rank of Sargeant in 1946. His entire working career, which was well over 50 years, was with the Pakulis Equipment Company out of their Willimantic location. Albert is survived by his three sons, Joseph (Kathleen) of Brooklyn, Albert J. (Carol) of Brooklyn and John (Wanda) of Hampton. He leaves four grandchildren, Geoffrey Schimmelpfennig, Brandie Schimmelpfennig, Heidi Schimmelpfennig and Kellie Schimmelpfennig and two step-grandchildren Shawn Below and Christopher Willard and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Elsie Bruno of Weeki Wachee, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by brothers Otto and Walter and sisters Augusta and Mildred.
