Funeral services were held 27 Nov 1963 for Mrs. Lyla C. Floyd at Olinger Mortuary, Boulder Street, with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. She died at Mile Hi Nursing Home after a long illness. She was 83. Her last residence was 1625 Simms Street. Born 15 Jan 1880 in Atchison, Kansas, she attended school there and later attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO.
She moved to Denver in 1918 from Tulsa, Oklahoma when her husband, the late Rev. Luther F. Floyd, accepted the pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church. After Luther's death in 1931, she worked for 10 years at the Denver Dry Goods Company.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Virginia Stockwell of Denver.
