Louise Katherine Gwasdac, 90, of Granite City, IL, died at 4:15 a.m. Sun. Jan. 4, 2015 at Stearns Nursing & Rehab in Granite City.

She was born, Oct. 12, 1924 in Madison, IL to the late Nikolai & Milka (Dukic) Mitalovich.

On Apr. 1, 1944, she and Bernard Gwasdac were married. He preceded her in death Jun. 10, 1987.

Louise was a retired federal employee and a very active member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Theresa & Fred Winkler of Bridgeton, MO, 4 grandchildren, Michelle, Andrew, Kelly & Katherine Winkler and a great-grandson, Jaden Pyle.

Aunt of John Frederick, Victoria, Yvette and Racheal Mitalovich.
Great-Aunt of John Nicholas Mitalovich.

She was also a very loving godmother and Great-aunt.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Nick, Jack & Stanley Mitalovich.

Memorial visitation will be at Wojstrom Funeral Home & Crematory in Granite City on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 12 noon until services begin at 1 p.m.

Private inurnment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
