Roman was born Sept. 29, 1933, in North Prairie, MN, to Thomas and Therese (Slinger) Pientok. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954. Roman married Peggy Dufault on Sept. 28, 1957, in Argyle, MN. They moved to Grand Forks, ND, until 1970 when they moved to Rapid City. He spent 38 years in the tire business before retiring from Dale’s Tire.
Roman loved country music, playing cards, camping with his family and fishing. He also enjoyed several bus tours with Peggy.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Pientok of Rapid City; four children, Jeffrey Pientok of Henderson, NV, Timothy Pientok, Joel Pientok of Woodbury, MN, and Paula Tillett of Stillwater, MN; three sisters, Leona Hollands of Shoreview, MN, Delores Mulvaney of Maple Lake, MN, and Jeanette (Jerry) Retka of Little Falls, MN; five grandchildren, Colene, Nathan, Matthew, Trevor and Tessa; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at St. Therese Catholic Church, with Fr. Bill Zandri officiating.
Burial will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.
