Annis Gertrude Tate Butler, 90, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas. Born July 5,1924, inBartlesville, Annis was the youngest daughter and eleventh of twelve children of Seth Curtis Tate and Margaret Belle Keefer Tate.
A graduate of Ramona High School, she married Carl Newton Butler May 9, 1942. They lived in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, raising their three children before retiring in Bartlesville. She was a member of the Order of Easter Star for 69 years, holding offices and serving on installation teams in three states. Her working career was taking care of her home, husband and children. She was a member of the Highland Park Baptist Church, Bartlesville.
Annis is survived by her three children, Carl G. Butler and his wife Carole of Alvin, Texas, Gary D. Butler and his wife Jeannie of Amarillo, Texas, and Tena Stoy and her husband John of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl N. Butler in February, 2011.
Services will be held Friday, January 9, 2015 at 10 A.M. at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Dan Denison of Bartlesville First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Burial will follow at Nowata Cemetery, Nowata.
