at age 11 she moved in with her Aunt and Uncle Sarah and Henry Edmondson.

Jennie Frances Glascock, daughter of Eugene and Ellen Woods Glascock, was born near Bonaparte, Dec. 31, 1876.

At the age of eleven years she became a member of the Henry Edmondson home, her Aunt Sarah and Uncle Henry receiving her with all the affection and love of parents, and to them, Fanny, as she was familiarly called, gave the devotion of a true daughter.

After the death of Mr. Edmondson, she and Mrs. Edmondson moved from their country home near Bentonsport to the Isreal property in east Bonaparte, which they purchased in 1917, and which has since been their home.

Early in life Frances united with the Methodist church of Bentonsport, but when that church was closed in 1914 she transferred her membership to the Presbyterian church of that town, and in 1927 to the church in Bonaparte. She was also a member of the Rebekah lodge of Bentonsport.

She was always engaged in the work of the church, ever ready to help in the various activities, giving of her time and strength unstintingly. At the time of her death she was Secretary of the Sunshine Society and Treasurer of the Sunday School; and an active worker in the Ladies Aid. To her faithful service her co-workers owe a debt of gratitude.

At all times and to everyone, Frances was a friend. Of a cheerful, happy disposition, she met old and young with a wealth of friendly greeting. And her going will be regretted by all who knew her – but most of all by the aunt with whom she lived so long and happily.

Frances leaves to mourn, her aunt, Mrs. Sarah L. Edmondson; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Thomas, near Bentonsport and Mrs. Anna Pratt, of Stockport; and three brothers, Chas. Glascock of Vancouver, British Columbia; Wm. And Alex of Van Buren county, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was stricken with paralysis on Monday afternoon, June 27th; from which she rallied after a few days, and hopes of her recovery were entertained. But it was not to be. On Friday, July 8, at 6:45 a.m., she passed on to her reward. She has gone, but the memory of her life will be to many an inspiration to carry on.

Funeral services were held at the late home Sunday afternoon at two o’clock, Rev. A.C. Droz officiating. Interment in the Bentonsport cemetery.

(I referenced the Bentonsport Cemetery Register for the year of death.)
