MRS. DOROTHY J. "DOT" HAHN, 85, a resident of The Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, and formerly of 47 N. Phillips Ave., Waynesboro, died Wednesday morning, January 7, 2015 in the nursing home.
Born July 22, 1929 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Helen V. (Bryan) McIntire. She was a lifelong resident of the Waynesboro area.
Mrs. Hahn graduated from Waynesboro High School with the class of 1947.
She and her husband, the late Eugene E. "Shorty" Hahn, were married on April 5, 1947 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Hahn died on February 14, 2006.
In her early life, Mrs. Hahn worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill, Connie's Sportswear, and the Appalachian Nursery.
She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Waynesboro, and enjoyed needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, bowling, and Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson music.
She is survived by five children, Larry D. Hahn and his wife, Cindy of Greencastle, Dennis W. Hahn of Chambersburg, Gregory A. Hahn and his wife, Bonnie of Mont Alto, Jeffrey L. Hahn and his wife, Jackie of Wayne Heights, and Kathy A. Valentine of Waynesboro; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two step-sisters, Maxine Rock of Anaheim, CA, and Wanell Gale of Laurel, MD; one step-brother, Harvey L. Shindledecker of Rouzerville, PA; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Robert S. "Steve" Hahn, who died on November 21, 2004; two grandsons, Gregory A. Hahn, Jr. and Brian D. Hahn; one great-grandson, Hunter J. Hahn; one sister, Janice L. Shearer; and two brothers, Francis "Pete" McIntire and Charles "Jeep" McIntire.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 12, 2015 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Rev. Dr. A. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Church Cemetery, Cascade, MD.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Monday morning, in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Christ United Methodist Church, 100 South Church Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.
