Roy Lester Baade, died at the Livermore Veterans Hospital.
Roy was born in Dunning, Neb. to Louis & Carry Baade.
He moved with his family to California in 1925 and lived in Visalia, Goshen and Sacramento before settling in Modesto in the early 1930's.
He graduated from Modesto High in 1937.
Roy was drafted into the US Army in 1944 and served until the end of World War II.
He spent his working career in automobile body & fender repair at many area dealerships.
Roy was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Modesto. He was also a member and Past Governor of the Modesto Moose Lodge. He loved bowling, water skiing, snow skiing and hunting.
Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Baade.
He leaves behind his son, Don Baade of Modesto and his daughter, Danette Coonce of Fresno as well as 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 29, 2006 at Turlock Memorial Park.
A reception will follow the service.
