Bonnie J. Morton, 80, KCK, passed away January 7, 2015. Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, with services to follow at 12 p.m., all at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., KCK. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Research Foundation, 3520 Lake Ave., Ste 202, Wilmette, IL 60091. Bonnie was born Jan. 21, 1934, in Kingfisher, Okla., to Thomas W. and Reeda Farrell. She graduated from Cushing, Okla., High School and she married the love of her life, James Morton on Feb. 2, 1952. They moved to the Kansas City area and Bonnie worked for the Gulley Transportation Company for 40 years as a secretary and was a very active member and past President of the Kansas City Women's Traffic Club. She loved flowers and tended her garden with great care. Bonnie loved ceramics and had many precious treasures throughout her home. She also enjoyed traveling, and especially enjoyed her trips with the Women's Traffic Club. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Reeda; her beloved husband in August of 2014, James Morton, and several siblings. She is survived by sons, Steve Morton (Diane), and Randy Morton; grandson, Ryan Morton (Patty); great-grandsons, Jacob and Sammy Morton; three sisters, Dorothy Cross (Orvin), Doris Patterson (Delbert), and Charlotte Deering (Gary); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
