Italian stage and film actress. Born Aida Laura Argia. It says together with her sister Irma, at the beginning of the twentieth century in the theater, and became famous for the interpretation together with Eleonora Duse in "La Gioconda" of Gabriele D'Annunzio, and for the repertoire of G. B. Shaw. She dedicates himself to the cinema with a certain continuity since 1931 "La vecchia signora", and elder interpreter of dramas popular overflowing with tears "La damigella di Bard" (1936), "Mamma" (1941). In the immediate post-war period Emma sign makes effective tests between neorealism and grotesque with "Miracolo a Milano" (1951), directed by Vittorio de Sica, and melodramatic role in "I giorni più belli" (1956), directed by Mario Mattioli. In 1961, a year before leaving the cinema, has also interpreted "Don Camillo monsignore.... ma non troppo" directed by Carmine Gallone, together with Gino Cervi and Fernandel. Also notable interpretations in the prose television for RAI, (Italy's national public broadcasting company). Emma rest in the grave of the family together with her sister Irma and parents.
