William is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Helen Adair; brother-in-law, William Hopkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a Major in the US Army during WWII and was captured during the Bataan Death March, spending over three years in the Japanese Prison Camp. Prior to joining the Army, he trained Philippine troops for battle. Bill was an active member of the Happy Warriors that met at the Flight Museum. A graduate of the University of Alabama, he was a big fan of Alabama and the Dallas Cowboys.
