Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov., 2, 2002 at Hanes-Lineberry Chapel, Vanstory Street, with family visitation immediately following the memorial service.
Born Oct. 4, 1961, in Guilford County, Mr. Alston was a 1979 graduate of Dudley Senior High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Kent Alston.
Survivors include a son, Joe K. Alston IIof Greensboro; daughter, Brandi Alston of Chapel Hill; a granddaughter, Cheyenne Alston; mother, Geraldine S. Alston; three brothers, Richard A. Alston of Tampa, Fla., Donald Keith Alston of Jamestown, and Robert Michael Alston of Greensboro; two sisters, Carol A. Leonard of Dublin, Ga. and Theresa A. Masten of Oak Ridge; wife, Tammy Alston of Eastern North Carolina and special friend and confident, Gene Strader.
