Jeannette Robbins, 94, passed way peacefully on January 27, 2011.Jeannette was born on March 11, 1916, in Indianapolis, Ind., one of six children and only daughter of Harry and Lillian Robbins.

Jeannette graduated from the Indianapolis Arsenal Technical High School and had bachelor's and master's degrees from the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music. She was a concert harpist in Indianapolis, Washington, D.C., and in New York City.

Jeannette joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1944, working in Washington, D.C. and then in New York City. She received a commendation for loyal and devoted service to the FBI, presented by J. Edgar Hoover. After 36 years of service, she retired from the FBI in 1980.

She was a member of the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City, performing with the choir and with the harp. She enjoyed her years spent as the Choir Mother with this church. She lived in New York City until 2008 when she moved to Texas to be near family.

Jeannette is survived by her youngest brother, Stephen; nieces Betsey Norgard and Louise Ferry; and nephews David, Reverend Bruce, Dennis, John and Douglas Robbins.

Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 4, at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewisville.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lewisville, Texas, the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City, or to a charity of your choice.
