Mary Beth Green died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at The Gardens Assisted Living Center in Rigby.
Mary was born September 8, 1926 to Ivan and Josephine Carpenter Lawson. She attended Menan elementary and graduated from Midway High School. On October 1, 1947 she married Dale V. Green in Idaho Falls. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls L.D.S. Temple. Mary worked for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company until she retired and for the Department of Agriculture as a field surveyor for many years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she helped with relief society, mutual, and teaching primary. Some of her hobbies included sewing, quilting, gardening, and cooking. She would always make homemade goodies for friends and family. She loved to travel and went to many places and enjoyed doing Philanthropy work with the Alpha Upsilon Sorority and spending time with lifelong friends in her Senora Canasta Club. She was very devoted to her family who she cherished very much.
Mary is survived by her daughter Rochelle Green (Weston Morris) of Rigby; Sister Yvonne Keller of Rupert; Brother, Norman (Carla) Lawson of Idaho Falls; Three grandchildren and three step grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dale, daughter, Nancy Denning, two sons, Colen and a baby boy and brother, Lynn Lawson.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Labelle L.D.S. 1st Ward Chapel. The family will visit with friends on Thursday evening from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. and prior to the service from 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. both at the church. Burial will be in the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of Eckersell Memorial Chapel in Rigby. The family express their appreciation to the love and caring that has been provided by Encompass Home Health and Hospice and the staff at The Gardens.
