Sgr. George R. Hamilton
Signaller George Richmond Hamilton, aged 22, of the Royal Canadian Navy, who formerly resided at 1913 5th St. W., died in Montreal, Sunday, following a brief illness. He had been stationed at Saint John, New Brunswick. Born in Red Deer, he came to Calgary about four years ago, and played trumpet and base fiddle in Sonny Fry's orchestra. He enlisted in the navy in August, 1941. His father, Clarence William Hamilton, died in 1928 at Red Deer. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Mary Alice Hamilton, Edmonton; two brothers, Howard Peter, with the navy at Halifax, and John Arthur, Edmonton; a sister, Mrs. W. A. Martin, Calgary.
