"Funeral services for Charles G. Bowne were held Wednesday afternoon at the Zion Episcopal church in Morris. Interment was in the Hillington cemetery. The officers of the local Lodge of Masons conducted the services at the grave. Mr. Bowne was born in 1855 in Morris and lived there until a few months ago, when, following the death of his wife, he moved to Norwich, Conn., to live with his daughter. He was the son of Charles and Mary Mott Bowne and was married to Elizabeth Chase in 1887. The deceased is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Amy Curtis, and a son, John, and one granddaughter, Faith Curtis, all of Norwich, Conn. The funeral was largely attended and the many beautiful floral offerings from the church and friends attested to the love and regard in which he was held by all."
