Mary H. Lindsey, 88, of Reno, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013.

Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 26th at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Pastor Joe McWilliam, Pastor Esequias Perea and Elder Andy Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Lindsey, the daughter of Abram Boddie & Agatha Warren Herbert, was born May 25, 1925, in Atlanta, GA.

On July 6, 1958, she married David Scott Lindsey in Atlanta, GA, building forty-six years of family and memories before his death on Dec. 22, 2004.

She was a faithful member of Paris Seventh Day Adventist Church where she served as treasurer for over forty years.
For a number of years she worked for R. L. Polk gathering information for the Paris City Directory, and she also worked for Olen Mills. One of her greatest pleasures in life was volunteering at St. Joseph's Hospital where she continued to volunteer through the hospital becoming Paris Regional Medical Center. Her volunteer years spanned twenty-eight years.

Following the 1982 tornado in Paris Mary worked countless hours with the Adventist Community Services and the American Red Cross serving families affected by the disaster.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Livingston.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen Kern & husband Geoff of Paris and Cheryl Lindsey of Reno, two granddaughters, Stephanie Kern of Denver, CO and Shannon Kern of Lewisville, her special family friends, Ben Holland and Sherry Phipps, numerous nieces & nephews and a plethora of friends.

The family would like to extend appreciation to the caregivers who cared for their loved one throughout the four years following her illness.
