Funeral services for James Oliver Matlock, 88-year old retired farmer formerly of Paris, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel.
Matlock died at 12:45 a.m. Saturday at his home, 3109 Swiss Avenue, Dallas. He lived in Dallas the past three years.
He farmed in Lamar County for a number of years and was formerly employed at Cummer-Graham factory here.
He was born October 2, 1870, in Mississippi.
He married Frances Weaver 63 years ago.
Survivors include his wife: three daughters, Mrs. Ola Wadford, Slate Shoals; Mrs. Viola Brinlee of Dallas and Mrs. Effie Wright of Lawton, Okla;four sons, James Matlock of Paris, Raymond and George Matlock of Dallas and John Matlock who lives in Mississippi.
The Rev. Loys Millsap will officiate at the funeral service. Interment will be in Providence Cemetery. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
