Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Leslie N. Barry and the late Edith A. (Sylvan) Levesque, he was a life long resident of Dartmouth and graduate of Dartmouth High School.
Gordon worked for Com Electric for 28 years and retired as a crew leader in 1997. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club in Mattapoisett, the American Legion in Readsburough, VT and the Portuguese American Club in South Dartmouth.
He is survived by a son, Gregory J. Barry of North Dartmouth; a nephew, Kenneth Barry, Jr. of North Dartmouth and several other nieces and nephews. Mr. Barry was the father of the late Gordon L. Barry, Jr. and Mark D. Barry and brother of the late Kenneth Barry, Sr. and Beverly Conrad.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 atin the Salvation Army, 619 Purchase St., New Bedford, MA 02740 followed by interment in Acushnet Cemetery.
