Henderson, John Rodney, 68, of Wentzells Lake, formerly of Camden, NS, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Born in Camden, he was a son of the late Parker and Vera (Bailey) Henderson. He worked at W. A. Flemming Feed Mill Truro, and then Michelin Tire in Granton and Bridgewater for 34 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed watching hockey games, driving around the countryside, and going to cattle sales. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Linda in infancy and brother Matthew. He is survived by his spouse, Janet Simmons; son, Adrian; step-daughter, Krista Orchard and step-grandson, Jared Orchard; step-son, Colin, sister, Heather (David) Tooker; nephew, Aaron (Susan) Tooker, and great nieces, Rachel, Bridgit and Shelby; nephew, Brad (Krista) Tooker, and great nieces Jenna, Julissa and great nephew Jaden. In honoring John’s wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service and interment will be held at a later date in the spring in the Camden Cemetery (to be announced at the time). Donations if desired, may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro.
