HELEN BANNO, age 84, a resident of Irving for more than 51 years, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at a care center in North Richland Hills, Texas. Born May 2, 1930 in Mansfield, Texas, the daughter of James Marcus Harmon and Cordie Mae Howell Harmon, she married Salvador Banno on June 6, 1953 in Dallas. Together they owned and operated Sal Banno’s Delivery and Trucking Company. Sal preceded her in death in 1970. Helen later worked in accounts payable for Zale’s Jewelers in Dallas. She is survived by her daughter, Sally Ashburn and husband Gary of Haslet; daughter, Debbie Lusty and husband Dan of Irving; grandchildren, Jerod Ashburn and wife Marisela of Fort Worth, Clint Ashburn of Fort Worth, Deanna Lusty of Coppell, Daniel Lusty of Addison and David Lusty of Irving; great grandchildren, Kinsley Ashburn and Kamden Ashburn; sister, Dorothy Elliott of Carrollton; and brother, Tommy Harmon of Irving; Visitation is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Friday, January 16 at Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home, 606 West Airport Freeway in Irving. Service is 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 17 in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
