Bruce Benjamin, 49, of Barryton, MI., died at Mecosta County General Hospital. He was born Jan, 17, 1940, in Barryton to Leonard and Ruth Benjamin. He graduated from Barryton High School and served in the United States Air Force for 20 years. He was stationed in Turkey and he was a Vietnam Veteran. The medals and badges he earned are: Good Conduct with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters; Longevity of service with 4 bronze Oak Leaf Clusters; National Defense Service Award Medal; Small Arms Marksmanship Ribbon; Vietnam Service Medal; Outstanding Unit Award; Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm; and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired 10 years ago as a tech sergeant. Surviving are his parents of Barryton, three daughters, Bonnie Jo Leavitt, Catherine Sue Pope and Debbie Sue Benjamin, all of Las Vegas, one brother, Herold and his wife Margaret Benjamin of Warsaw, N.Y., five grandchildren and one niece, Ruth Ann Benjamin.
