Maria Opal Neff, 103, of Sedalia, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2006, at Fair View Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sedalia. Father Vince Hoying will officiate. Pallbearers will be Thomas T. Keating, Dr. Robert Linsenbardt, Arthur Chancellor, James Piatt, Scott Linsenbardt and Jim Boyer. A rosary and visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia until service time. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Born Dec. 13, 1902, in Revilla, S.D., she was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Nellie I. Parrish Meyer. As a child, she lived in Arkansas and southern Missouri. She later lived in Marshall. She graduated from the Academy Notre Dame de Sion conducted by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Sion from Paris, France. For more that 30 years she operated the abstract office in the Saline County Courthouse in Marshall. She moved to Sedalia in 1971. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Altar Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Zelma Ann Ballinger
