Bob was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Madisonville, Ky. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1985. Bob was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, airman first class, serving from 1951 to 1955 with 8th Air Force, 7th Air Police Squadron, Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth. He was a member of American Association of Retired Persons and the Madisonville Jaycees. Bob was a state runner-up pitcher for Madisonville North Hopkins in 1949 and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004. He moved to Fort Worth in 1952 and to Venus in 1982. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, George and Greek Lantaff; sister, Ethel Mae Furgerson; and brother, Jimmy Lantaff. Survivors: Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Joy Lantaff; daughters, Debra Price, Sandra Winsett and husband, Ricky, and Brenda Benthall and husband, Ray; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
