Ella married Charles Heckel Carter at 15 years old in Dec. 1915. They had 4 children - Frank, John, Mary and Nellie. In 1936 the family moved from Missouri to Bellingham, WA. Charles died in 1949. Ella married Paul McKinstry in 1953. Paul died in 1965.
